| Union Chemicar (UK) Ltd., based centrally in the UK are manufacturers of Inked Ribbon Cassettes, Thermal Transfer Barcode and Fax Ribbons, and Synthetic Large Format Inkjet Media.
Union Chemicar (UK) Ltd. was established as a production facility in the U.K. in 1989 to service the growing Computer and Point-of-Sale (P.O.S.) Printer market within Europe. The close links with a major O.E.M. printer manufacturer developed in Japan were maintained when both companies opened production facilities in the U.K.
Continued growth necessitated a move to larger premises in 1996, the increased space at new, current site allowing the introduction of a Thermal Transfer Ribbon Slitting operation to run alongside the Computer Printer and P.O.S. production lines.
The first slitting machine was installed during 1997, followed by a second machine in 1998. Increasing demand led to the installation of a third machine in 2000, and the introduction of shift working.
2002 saw the introduction of Synthetic Large Format Inkjet Media. A slitting machine to convert this product was installed in Union Chemicar U.K. Ltd. the same year. |
